The Lebanese health authorities Tuesday said COVID-19 killed 19 people in the last 24 hours.

The Ministry of Public Health said more than 5,080 Lebanese tested positive for the highly contagious lung disease, adding that the increase in number is “unprecedented.”

The Moroccan health authorities Tuesday said they had recorded the first COVID-19 Omicron death, according to the Maghreb Arabe Press (MAP).

MAP reported that the Moroccan health ministry said the number of Omicron infections has gone up, adding that around 4,300 COVID-19 cases were recorded in the last 24 hours.
