Joint campaign exposes 13 attacks on water pipelines in southern Shouneh-Ministry

The Ministry of Water and Irrigation, during a security campaign carried out in cooperation with the Public Security Directorate (PSD), detected multiple attacks on the pipelines supplying southern Shouneh areas.

Illegal fixtures were installed to siphon off water to fill tanks and supply tourist vacation residences illegally, which affected citizens’ water quotas destined for drinking in “large” quantities, the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

The ministry noted the 13 attacks on the pipelines were removed and the water structure was fixed. Seizures will then be referred to the competent authorities, and legal measures will be taken against violators, stressing that the campaign continues to cover most areas countrywide.
