Amman, An official military source at the Jordanian Armed Forces Saturday said several soldiers had been injured from inhaling fumes while “dealing” with what he described as old phosphorus explosives at a site where ammunition was destroyed.
He added that several of the team working on defusing the explosives suffered from “shortness of breath”. They were taken to Prince Hashem bin Al-Hussein Hospital, adding that their health condition is “good.”
The source added that one of the cases suffered from second-degree burns in the hands and left leg and was transferred to Al-Hussein Medical City.
The Army General Command wished the injured a speedy recovery and urged Jordanians not to share rumours.
