Bahrain All Share Index gains 4.14 points

Bahrain All Share Index has closed at 1,964.02 points marking an increase of 3.23 points above the previous closing.

This increase was due to the rise in the Financials Sector, Materials Sector and Real Estate Sector.

Bahrain Islamic Index has closed at 723.08 points marking an increase of 4.14 points above the previous closing .

Results indicated that 74 equity transactions took place with a volume of 1,736,611 worth BD 558,894.

Investors traded mainly in the Financials Sector representing %27.92 of the total value of securities traded.

Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Chairman meets with GCC Secretary General

President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen, met with Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

The Secretary General stressed the firm position of the Council in supporting the United-Nations-led efforts to put an end to the Yemeni crisis through a political solution based on the three references represented by the GCC initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive National Dialogue Conference, and Security Council Resolution 2216, in order to protect Yemen’s sovereignty and unity.

Albudaiwi also reiterated the support of the GCC countries for all efforts aimed at achieving security and stability in Yemen and ending the Yemeni crisis so that the Yemeni people can live in prosperity, development and peace.

The meeting discussed the latest developments in Yemen and the great role played by the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government to enhance security and stability in the country, in addition to shedding light on a number of regional and international issues of common interest.

HM King chairs weekly Cabinet meeting

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting, attended by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, at the Al-Sakhir Palace today.

HM the King lauded the Kingdom’s wide-ranging achievements, and praised the steadily improving government performance, commending the role played by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister in leading the government towards delivering more development, and establishing excellence and creativity as the basis of its work.

HM King Hamad affirmed that the achievements attained by the executive and legislative branches, as a result of their ongoing cooperation, reflect the advanced outcomes of national development, and motivate maximising efforts to better serve the nation and its citizens.

In this regard, HM the King welcomed the agreement reached by the executive and legislative branches on the draft state budget for the fiscal years 2023-2024, emphasising unwavering keenness to improve the living standards of low and medium income citizens, whose interests were taken into consideration in the agreed upon draft budget.

HM King Hamad stressed the importance of carrying on efforts aimed at achieving the goals of financial sustainability and economic growth to pave the way for the creation of opportunities of added value for citizens.

HM the King gave directives to expedite the development and implementation of plans and projects that would preserve the environment and contribute to achieving food and water security.

In this context, HM King Hamad tasked the government with adopting initiatives that enhance food security and support national products to ensure food security and its sustainability.

This can be done through developing national capabilities in the field of food industries, ensuring an infrastructure capable of responding to the requirements of the present and the future food and water security, and stimulating the private sector to invest in these areas as key partners in various fields of development, HM said.

HM the King then lauded the role played by charity societies in promoting noble humanitarian work, underlining the importance of adhering to laws and regulations that govern the work of these societies and ensure their improved performance.

On addressing regional and global issues, HM the King expressed thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, for the warm welcome and hospitality accorded to the participants in the 32nd Arab Summit in Jeddah, highlighting the importance of the topics on the agenda of the pan-Arab summit in strengthening joint Arab action.

HM King Hamad also welcomed Arab leaders to the 33rd Arab Summit, set be hosted by Kingdom of Bahrain in 2024.

HM the King also congratulated the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries on the 42nd anniversary of the GCC, praising the bloc’s landmark achievements since its establishment, and affirming the kingdom’s support for joint GCC action in a way that would achieve the interests of its member states and peoples.

Then, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, extended, on behalf of the government, his deepest thanks and gratitude to HM King Hamad, for commending the improved performance of the government.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister affirmed that the royal appreciation would encourage everyone in the government to double their efforts and work as one team so that the government performance will always achieve royal visions.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister instructed the ministries and government agencies to implement the royal directives to serve the interests of the kingdom and citizens.
