Jordan News UpdatesLuxembourg Monday said it is freezing Russian assets of over €210 million in a bid to stop the flow of Russian funds to the war against Ukraine.
Reuters cited Luxembourg’s Finance Minister, Yoriko Pax, as saying that Luxembourg froze Russian assets as of Monday. She noted that the decision follows the freezing of other assets last week, with a value of €4.3 billion.
The Ministry was informed of 41 transactions suspected to be related to Russian assets.

Fuel prices have continued to rise in the UK to unprecedented highs despite the government’s decision to cut fuel prices by 5 pence per litre.
According to the Guardian, the average price of a litre of gasoline has reached 185 pence so far, while a litre of diesel has stood at 191 pence.
The Competition Authority in Britain announced that it will conduct a short and focused review of fuel prices.

President of the International Federation of Arab Intellectuals Sheikha Nawal al-Sabah of Kuwait is scheduled to visit Jordan tomorrow to hold several cultural meetings.
According to a press statement issued Monday, the five-day visit includes holding meetings and working sessions with several officials, intellectual, cultural and literary elites in Jordan related to the union, its activities, community activities, and its role in building, upgrading and advancing culture, thought and general societal awareness.

Octane 90 gasoline has recorded a price of $1,267.2 per ton, compared to the average price of $1,193.9 in May, an increase of 6.1 per cent.
The price of octane 95 gasoline stood at $1,321.1 per ton, compared to $1,249.7 in May, an increase of 5.7 per cent.
According to data announced by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources on Monday, the price of diesel rose from $1,098.9 per ton to $1,282, a 16.7 per cent increase, and the price of kerosene rose from $1,192 to $1,345.4 per ton, an increase of 12.9 per cent.
The price of fuel oil decreased from $625.5 to $597.5 per ton, a decrease of 4.5 per cent. In contrast, the price of liquefied petroleum gas decreased in June to $750 per ton compared to its price recorded in May, which amounted to $857.5, a decrease of 12.5 per cent.
The price of Brent crude was sold at $126.4 in the first quarter of 2022 per barrel, compared to $112.7 in May.
