Published by
Raw Story

By Matt Laslo With the Supreme Court slated to overturn Roe v. Wade in the coming months, there’s been a loud and growing chorus from most elected Democrats focusing the party’s voters, activists, and donors on the usual suspect, the filibuster. There’s a problem though: Overhauling the filibuster – whether this week or four months from now – would do nothing for the millions of women on the verge of losing their reproductive rights. On Twitter, Morant posted (then deleted) a tweet calling the play dirty and accusing Poole of “breaking the code.” Of course, Poole himself denied any malicious intent. “It was a basketball play,” Morant said. “We doubled him and I hit the ball, I was going for the ball…

Christian Yelich Is Back in MVP Form

Published by
Sports Illustrated

By Matt Martell First, there were signs of life. In the April 25 edition of our MLB Power Rankings, Will Laws wrote about Christian Yelich’s rough start to the season in his blurb for the Brewers. At the time, Yelich had a .192/.302/.327 slash line and just one home run. “That’s not a great start for those of us who are concerned that his MVP-caliber power stroke could be gone for good,” Will wrote. “Then again, his expected numbers (.251 xBA, .483 xSLG) are far better than his actual ones and he leads the league in hard-hit rate (62.9%). His barrel percentage (14.3%) is the second-best mark o…
