Amman: The Ministry of Education has completed all necessary preparations to welcome approximately 1.6 million students who are set to return to schools on Sunday, marking the commencement of the second semester. Sahar Shkhaterah, the Ministry Secretary-General for Administrative and Financial Affairs, affirmed that adjustments to the start of the school day will be implemented until the beginning of Ramadan. In schools with a single shift, the morning assembly is scheduled to begin at 8:15 AM, followed by the first class at 8:30 AM. For schools with an afternoon shift, the assembly will start at 12:50 PM, with classes commencing at 1:00 PM.
According to Jordan News Agency, students will receive their textbooks on the first day of school, as the Ministry has completed the necessary procurement and distribution processes for all textbooks to the respective directorates. Preparations have also been finalized to ensure that heaters are available in all classrooms, providing a conducive learning environment.
Additional infrastructure developments include the reception of seven new schools in the governorates of Zarqa, Mafraq, Balqa, Karak, and Ma'an, encompassing a total of 99 classrooms. Furthermore, four supplementary classroom projects have been completed, adding 20 additional classrooms to accommodate the growing student population.
The Ministry remains committed to implementing its sustainable national remedial program throughout the second semester. This initiative is designed to support students' learning by addressing any learning losses and enhancing academic performance, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to succeed in their educational pursuits.
