Fifteen coronavirus deaths and 2,387 infections were recorded across the Kingdom Saturday, raising the death toll from the pandemic to 12,974 and the caseload to 1,097,474, according to the latest Health Ministry figures.

The percentage of some 27,041 PCR tests that came back positive today was 8.83%, it said in its daily brief, adding that the number of currently active cases stood at 25,312 with 69 admitted to hospitals today and 599 still being hospitalized. Some 62 Covid patients have left hospitals, it said.

On hospital capacity, it said the occupancy rate of isolation beds in the northern region was 9%, intensive care beds 29% and respirators 14%.

In the central region, the occupancy rate of isolation beds was 15%, intensive care 30% and respirators 14%, it said.

In the southern region, the occupancy rate of isolation beds was 8%, intensive care 7% and respirators 5%, according to the figures.

The daily brief indicated that 2,170 cases have recovered, bringing the total number of expected recoveries after the end of the 14-day isolation period to 1,059,217.

The ministry also said that the number of people who got the first dose of Covid vaccines climbed to 4,510,290 and the those who were double-jabbed numbered 4,104,451.
