Awqaf minister warns of segregation, fragmentation inside society

Awqaf Minister Mohammad Khalaileh, on Friday, warned of the factors of segregation and fragmentation inside the society to keep it stable and cohesive.

During Friday sermon, the minister stressed that any society that suffer from such factors will become weak and sever consequences will prevail.

Islam wanted its followers to be strong and for the Islamic nation to be a nation of progress, civilization and prosperity, the minister added.

CDD responds to 199 accidents in 24 hours

The Civil Defense Department (CDD) dealt with 199 firefighting operations, of which 170 accidents related to plant cover across the Kingdom in the past 24 hours.

The CDD said its teams also dealt with 1372 different medical cases during the same period.

Jordan registers 9 COVID-19 related deaths, 494 infections on Friday

Jordan registered, on Friday, 9 COVID-19 related deaths and 494 new infections, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 739,015, the Health Ministry said in a press statement.

The statement added that 48 people had recovered and were discharged from hospitals while 65 others were admitted.

It also indicated that occupancy of the ICU bed capacity has hit 16%, 24%, and 8%, in the northern, central, and southern regions, respectively.

With regard to testing, 17,327 tests were conducted Friday, 2.85 percent of which were positive, taking the total numbers of tests to 7,375,659 since March. 2020.
