TOKYO, Aug. 24, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Casio Computer Co., Ltd. announced today the release of new additions to the EDIFICE line of high-performance chronographs based on the brand concept of “Speed and Intelligence.” The EQB-1200AT, EFS-S580AT, and EFR-571AT employ a dial made from 6K carbon* and are the third set of collaboration models designed with the Formula OneTM team Scuderia AlphaTauri.
*A material woven with filaments that each consist of 6,000 carbon fibers.

Scuderia AlphaTauri is a racing team with many young, up-and-coming drivers. The team’s cutting-edge technologies and passionate pursuit of speed are a great match for the EDIFICE brand concept, and Casio has been an official partner since 2016, when the team was known as Scuderia Toro Rosso.

The new EQB-1200AT, EFS-S580AT, and EFR-571AT watches feature a dial made from 6K carbon fiber, inherited from the second collaboration with Scuderia AlphaTauri, which has been well-received. The watches incorporate Formula OneTM technology with watch designs that use the same kind of high-strength carbon fiber as used in racing car wings and floors. The team’s navy blue color sets the overall tone, and fluorescent yellow — the color of the clothing worn by crew mechanics after races — highlights key components such as the dial ring, second hand, indicator hand, and stopwatch button, providing the high visibility required for safe work in the paddock and pits.

UAE condemns Houthi attempt to target Khamis Mushait with booby-trapped drone

The UAE has strongly condemned the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias’ systematic attempts to attack civilians and civil objects in Khamis Mushait, Saudi Arabia, with an explosive drone, which was intercepted by the Coalition Forces.

In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) on Tuesday, the UAE reiterated that these recurrent terror attacks by the Houthis reflect their blatant disregard for the international community and all international laws and norms.

The Ministry urged the international community to take an immediate and decisive stance to stop these recurrent acts, which target critical infrastructure and threaten the security and stability of the Kingdom, as well as global energy supplies. It also stressed that the continued threat of these attacks in recent days is a grave escalation that represents new evidence of these militias’ attempts to undermine security and stability in the region.

The UAE renewed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia over these subversive terrorist attacks and reiterated its position against all threats to the Kingdom’s security and stability. The UAE also reiterated its support for all measures taken by Saudi authorities to maintain the safety and security of its citizens and residents.

MoFAIC also stressed that the security of the UAE and that of Saudi Arabia are indivisible and that any threat facing the Kingdom is considered a threat to the security and stability of the UAE.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has commended the long-standing UAE-French ties and the distinguished relations with Emmanuel Macron, President of France, at a meeting with French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian, and French Minister of the Armed Forces, Florence Barley.

The French ministers, during the meeting which took place at Qasr Al Shat’ Palace, conveyed the thanks and appreciation of the French President for the UAE’s role in facilitating the evacuation of the French diplomats and nationals in addition to citizens of several other friendly countries, from Kabul and ensuring their safe home return through its airports.

The ministers also expressed their country’s appreciation of the significant humanitarian role played by the UAE in Afghanistan over the past years under the tough conditions the Afghan people have been reeling under.

Sheikh Mohamed underlined the importance of the role played by friendly countries and allies in times of crises, noting that solidarity and support for those in need lie at the heart of the UAE’s humanitarian diplomacy.

He commended the strategic partnership and mutual trust between the UAE and France and their shared moderate vision toward issues related to peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

The meeting addressed the prospects of advancing strategic relations between the UAE and France to the best interests of their peoples.

Issues of interest in Afghanistan and the latest developments of the situation in the Asian nation were also addressed during the meting.

Attending the meeting were Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports, Dr Anwar Gargash, the Diplomatic Advisor to His Highness the UAE President, Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority, Lieutenant-General Engineer Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Staff Pilot Ibrahim Nasser Mohammed Al Alawi, Commander of the UAE Air Force and Air Defence, and Hend Mane’ Al Otaiba, the UAE Ambassadress to France as well as the delegation accompanying the French ministers.
