A Cabinet session, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Khasawneh, on Wednesday agreed to complete construction of Ma’an Military Hospital project, which would contribute to operating the facility as originally tendered to fully serve the southern governorate’s citizens.

According to the Cabinet decision, construction of the hospital’s third and fourth floors will be completed at the project’s main building, as per the original tendering documents, with a total area of 4,034 square meters.

The gov’t plan stipulates that the hospital capacity should stand at 110 beds when operations begin, which could be expanded in the future to 150.

The Council of Ministers, meanwhile, approved Jordan’s executive plan for priorities matrix, aimed at strengthening the protection network from gender-based, child-oriented and domestic violence for 2021-2023.

The plan continues the gov’t measures to strengthen the family protection system, and includes executive activities to the concerned stakeholders, covering seven main pillars: Human resources, capacity building, services improvement, logistical support, legislation and policies, partnership and coordination, and awareness.
