Moderate weather to persist for remainder of week

Temperatures on Tuesday are expected to slightly drop into the mid 20s for most parts of the country, while they will stay a little elevated in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, falling only into the upper 30s, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

Parts of the western regions could see light showers of rain, with clouds at low altitudes and northwesterly moderate to brisk winds.

In its daily update, the JMD warned of patchy fog in the early morning hours, and low-visibility in Badia areas due to dust formation.

On Wednesday and the remainder of the week, mercury levels are expected to slightly rise, bringing moderate autumn weather in most parts, while hot conditions will persist in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba.

Today, the highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom will range between 27 and 24 degrees Celsius. In the late afternoon and evening hours, cooler weather is forecast as mercury levels slide to 16C or even 12C in the southern highlands.

In the port city of Aqaba, daytime temperatures will stand at 36 degrees, while lows will slide to 23C at night.
