Vaccines sole path to restore normal life – says Al-Shboul

State Minister for Media Affairs Faisal Al-Shboul said that the continuation of the defense law aims preserving Jordanian laborers at the private sector, and urging citizens and residents to get COVID-19 vaccine.

In an interview with Al Mamlaka TV on Thursday, Al-Shboul has applied circulars related to the defense orders within the narrowest limits in accordance with the Royal directive.

He added that the defense orders came to apply a set of rules that encourage all to get COVID-19 vaccine due to its key and sole role in restoring normal life.

54 per cent of the target received the COVID-19 vaccine, compared to 30 per cent of the refugees and residents, Al-Should revealed.

Commenting on festival and events, he noted that tourism sector is one of the hardest-hit sectors due to the pandemic, as such activities have contributed to reinvigorating the economic movement, stressing that festival agents have complied with health protocols.

Sanad application is the responsibility of the facilities and citizens are obliged to download the application to enter any facility, Al-Shboul said, adding that people can show their personal ID, health ID or vaccination certificate instead.

He reiterated on the continuation of the in-class education at schools and universities, stressing that most of the infected persons at this stage are between the ages of 10 and 17 and they do not need to be admitted to hospitals.

Water supply to some areas in Amman reduced due to technical failure

The Jordan Water Company (Miyahuna) on Friday said that the water supply to certain areas in Amman has been reduced due to technical failure.

The affected areas include Abdoun, Sweifieh, Prince Hassan district, Al-Aqsa district, Khazna district, a statement issued by the company added.

Jordan among top 40 markets for investment in renewable energy

Jordan was included in the list of top 40 attractive markets for investment in renewable energy over the world, according to Ernst & Young (EY).

The Renewable Energy Country Attractiveness Index (RECAI) ranks the world’s top 40 markets on the attractiveness of their renewable energy investment and deployment opportunities.

RECAL stated that these rankings reflect their assessments of market attractiveness and global market trends.

Egypt ranked came second among the Arab countries and 19 globally, with the country scoring 57.8 points, while Jordan came in third place among the Arab countries and 38th in the world rankings, scoring 51.5 points.

U.S. holds three tests to advance hypersonic weapon programs, Pentagon says

The U.S. Navy and Army tested hypersonic weapon component prototypes on Wednesday that will inform development of new weapons, the Pentagon said, calling the three tests successful.

The tests occurred the same day that U.S. President Joe Biden said he was concerned about Chinese hypersonic weapons.

The Navy and Army will conduct a flight test of the common hypersonic missile in fiscal 2022, which began on Oct. 1.

Pleasant weather conditions forecast until Monday

Pleasant weather conditions are expected countrywide, on Friday, while it will be moderate in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and the port city of Aqaba, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

Winds will be northwesterly moderate, the JMD noted.

The department said similar weather conditions are forecast over the next 72 hours in the Kingdom.

Temperatures in the capital Amman will range between a high of 26 degrees Celsius and a low of 15 degrees.

Highs in the port city of Aqaba will hike up to 32 degrees, sliding to 21 degrees at night.
