Israeli occupation forces on Monday shut the Haram Al Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of Hebron in the southern West Bank ahead of a planned incursion by right-wing Israelis and Jewish settlers during the Passover holidays.
The Hebron Waqf (endowments) Department said in a statement that Israeli soldiers closed the mosque last night after the late evening Taraweeh Ramadan prayers, adding the closure will continue for two days.
It called the closure “a provocation and blatant aggression” against the sanctity of the mosque and an attack on the right of Muslims to access a house of worship.
