The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) monitoring and inspection teams conducted 1,400 inspections during the second week of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement on Wednesday, JFDA’s Director-General Nizar Mheidat said that 6 alimentation facilities were shut down, 40 suspended, and 665 others warned for violating the administration’s health standards.
It also destroyed 5 tons of food and 2,000 liters of liquid, and took 112 samples of the local market’s foodstuffs, he added.

The Association of Agricultural Research Institutions in the Near East and North Africa (AARINENA) signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday with the Egyptian Delta Water for magnetic water treatment, to enhance cooperation in research fields and organize training programs.

The Secretary-General of the Council, Hani Nawafleh, said that the creation of the two centers aims to enhance the response to the training and educational needs of health professionals locally, regionally and internationally. He pointed out that the Clinical Skills and Simulation Center is supported by the Ministries of Planning and Health under a grant from the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development.
Nawafleh explained that the center is equipped with devices that simulate various medical cases and scenarios, such as adult or pediatric emergencies, natural birth simulators, and more. He also indicated that the computer center will be used to hold medical examinations and to contribute to strengthening the capacity-building of nursing staffs.
