Relatively cold forecast in mountainous areas, pleasant in rest of Kingdom

A tangible drop in temperatures on Thursday is expected, pushing temperatures 4 to 6 Celsius degrees below their annual average, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

Pleasant weather conditions prevail countrywide for today, while relatively cold weather is forecast in mountainous areas.

Winds will be northwesterly brisk, with a chance for light showers in northern and central parts.

Temperatures in the capital Amman will range between a high of 18 degrees Celsius and a low of 8 degrees.

Highs in the port city of Aqaba will hike up to 30 degrees, sliding to 17 degrees at night.

190k visitors to Jordan’s archaeological and tourist sites during Eid al-Fitr- says official

Jordan’s archaeological and tourist sites have received about 190 thousand local, Arab and foreign visitors during Eid al-Fitr vacation.

Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities Spokesperson Ahmad al-Rifae told Petra that Jordan has witnessed active tourist movement during the vacation, noting that the ministry has put in place a plan included organizing field tours and shifts for its cadres.

The ministry prepared shift programs in archaeological and public sites, and set up a suitable tourist environment to receive guests and visitors, al-Rifae said, noting that the competent authorities are fully prepared to provide services to tourists and visitors during their stay.

The measures, taken by the government, to ease Covid-related restrictions and readjusting protocols have positively affected the tourism sector, al-Rifae added.

Jordan, Saudi Arabia seek further cooperation in media sphere

Director-General of the Jordan News Agency (Petra) Fayeq al-Hijazin, on Thursday, met with Saudi Ambassador in Amman Nayef al-Sudairi.

The Saudi embassy in Amman, in statement, said that the two sides discussed means of cooperation between Amman and Riyadh in media sphere, reviewing the two countries’ experience in this regard.
