The Jordan Payments and Clearing Systems Company (JoPACC) has named non-profit organization INJAZ as the 2022 Digital Financial Services (DFS) Champion in the second annual cycle of the Digital Champions Program.
The Digital Champions Program aims to recognize and honor the individuals and institutions pioneering change across the financial sector who contribute to expanding the acceptance and use of digital financial services.
The champions are nominated by financial sector stakeholders, after which JoPACC’s team evaluates the candidates and selects the winner(s) for that year.
INJAZ is a pioneer in promoting financial literacy, particularly in the realm of digital financial services, among school students, university students, community college students, and youth centers through educational programs and courses.
INJAZ is also credited with developing the national financial literacy curriculum (Financial Education Program) in collaboration with the Central Bank of Jordan and the Ministry of Education, which was mainstreamed in schools as a subject taught to students from the seventh to the twelfth grades.
The CEO of JoPACC, Maha Al-Baho, lauded INJAZ’s entrepreneurial role in promoting the early teaching of life skills and broadening the educational process to include practical elements, which will empower youth to lead their lives and make responsible, well-informed decisions.
Deema Bibi, CEO of INJAZ, praised JoPACC for its efforts to raise financial literacy in Jordan and reaffirmed INJAZ’s belief in the value of early financial education and awareness.
JoPACC and INJAZ have also agreed to step up their efforts to raise awareness of core financial concepts through joint training sessions and the development of financial awareness programs, with the goal of increasing financial inclusion across the Kingdom.
INJAZ has established itself as a leading solution provider linking the public, private, and civil society sectors to bridge the skills gap between the educational system and the changing needs of the labor market over the past 22 years, building on its mission to inspire and prepare youth to become productive members of their society and accelerate the development of the national economy.
INJAZ established the mySTARTUP incubator in 2018, which leverages INJAZ’s resources, expertise, and network in order to promote entrepreneurship and enable startups to become a driving force for the increased and equal participation and economic development of youth and women.
On the other hand, JoPACC oversees a number of payment systems in Jordan, launches cutting-edge digital solutions, and carries out research and analysis in the area of financial technology and inclusion.
