Jordan, Tunisia explore higher education cooperation

Minister of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research Wajih Owais on Tuesday met Tunisian ambassador in Amman Khalid Suhaili to discuss efforts to put the recommendations from the fifth meeting of the joint Jordanian-Tunisian Technical Committee on higher education into practice.

The recommendations included a new executive program for 2022–2025, an action plan between the Jordanian Scientific Research and Innovation Support Fund and the Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the establishment of a universities forum between the two nations.

The two officials emphasized the need for more collaboration between the ministry and embassy to streamline the application process for Tunisian students awarded scholarships at Jordanian universities.

They emphasized the importance of fostering ties between Jordanian and Tunisian public universities and a partnership between the Pasteur Institute of Tunis and the Princess Haya Biotechnology Center. They also underlined the need for participating in international research initiatives, particularly those that fall under Euro-Mediterranean cooperation programs.

Princess Ghida opens patients garden at KHCC

HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center (KHCF/KHCC), opened a garden in the center on Monday to improve cancer patients’ treatment journeys and provide them and their families with a sense of peace.

During the opening of the Hassan and Yusra Kolaghassi Garden, Her Highness emphasized that comprehensive care and treatment for the center’s patients is always a top priority, and that the garden’s purpose is to provide a space that gives patients a sense of comfort and boosts their morale, which plays a crucial role in assisting them during a challenging treatment journey.

The garden was established through the generosity of Ali Kolaghassi, a KHCF/KHCC Board of Trustees member.

The opening ceremony was attended by HRH Princess Raja bint Talal, HRH Prince Muhammad bin Talal, as well as a number of patients and their families, and featured activities for children and adults, such as an outdoor movie screening and interactive games for different age groups.

RJ to sponsor Arab Influencers Forum in October

Royal Jordanian (RJ) has announced that it will be the main sponsor of the inaugural Arab Influencers Forum “City Talk” to be held next October at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center on the Dead Sea shores. The event will be organized by the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) and Omnes Media.

RJ said in a statement Tuesday that it will also be the official carrier for all of the forum’s guests, including speakers and influencers from various Arab countries.

CEO of RJ, Samer Majali, stated that the national carrier’s sponsorship of this event is consistent with its strategy to support all efforts and events that promote and market Jordan. He emphasized that the forum will help promote Jordan’s culture, heritage, and tourism by attracting Arab social media content creators and marketing industry professionals.

City Talk will bring together over 500 social media influencers and industry leaders from various Arab countries to explore and discuss the most recent and notable advancements in the marketing advertising industry.

The gathering, which will take place from October 2 to October 5, will include six panel discussions and six workshops, as well as daily meetings with prominent influential Arab figures, in order to develop recommendations and solutions to many of the issues under discussion.

AmCham-Jordan, Partners for Good, EEConsult seal cooperation agreement

The American Chamber of Commerce in Jordan (AmCham-Jordan), Partners for Good (PfG), and Excellent for Energy Consultancy L.L.C. (EEConsult) signed a cooperation agreement on Tuesday to develop joint programs and promote business growth.

Under the agreement, signed by Raghad Alkhojah, CEO of AmCham-Jordan, Waleed Tarawneh, President and CEO of Partners for Good (PfG), and Khaled Al Sarhan, CEO of EEConsult, all parties will exchange experiences, knowledge, and relationships wherever required or necessary to help each party achieve the outlined goals.

PfG is a Jordanian non-profit organization dedicated to achieving sustainable development through four key themes: entrepreneurship and employment support, poverty alleviation, women empowerment, and climate change mitigation.

EEConsult is a U.S. based company located in Austin, Texas, that has established itself as a market development and capacity building company in the field of renewable energy and energy technology in the MENA region.
