Iraqi authorities report 10 missing in collapsed building rubble

The Iraqi Civil Defence Department Monday said that the rescue teams are looking for 10 missing people believed to be trapped in the rubble of the Baghdad collapsed building.

The Civil Defense Department media office reported that its search and rescue teams are searching for 10 of the missing and trapped in the collapsed building so far.

Civil Defense sources said earlier today that 32 members of the Civil Defense Department were injured as a result of the collapse of the building, which was brought down by a “major” fire.

Real estate trading up 23pct in January-October of 2022

The Kingdom’s real estate trade picked up by 23 percent to JD4.875 billion in 2022’s January-October period, in comparison to figures reported in the same period of 2021.

The Department of Land and Survey (DLS) revealed on Monday that the state’s revenue from the real estate market stood at JD244 million by the end of last October, a 37-percent increase from the figure reported in 2021.

Overall real estate sales in the Kingdom dropped by 7 percent during the same period of 2022, as apartment sales also declined by 3 percent, while land sales decreased by 9 percent compared to 2021.

On a monthly level, the trade volume in the Jordanian real estate market went up in October of 2022 by 21 percent, amounting to JD522 million compared to the same month of 2021. Meanwhile, revenue in the same month of 2022 recorded a 35-percent rise, reaching JD24.8 million compared to the same month of 2021.

Israeli forces push deep into east Al-Bureij camp in Gaza

Israeli occupation forces early Monday made an incursion into east of Al-Bureij refugee camp in the central of the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian sources.

The sources said that Israeli troops, backed by military vehicles and bulldozers, pushed dozens of meters deep into the area and razed the Palestinian-owned lands.

Venezuela: Five dead in military plane crash

Five members of the Venezuelan army were killed on Sunday after the plane they were onboard crashed during a drill, according to the Venezuelan authorities and the Washington Post.

Defence Minister General Vladimir Padrino said in a statement that the C-208B plane “fell to the ground” three kilometers from the Jose Antonio Valez Air Base in the southern Venezuelan state of Amazonas.

President Nicolas Maduro ordered an investigation into the incident.

King departs for Sharm El Sheikh

His Majesty King Abdullah departed for Sharm El Sheikh on Monday to participate in the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP27, hosted by Egypt.

King Abdullah, accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, will deliver remarks at the conference.

Deputising for His Majesty, Crown Prince Al Hussein is set to deliver remarks at the Middle East Green Initiative Summit, held by Saudi Arabia on the sidelines of COP27.

His Royal Highness Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein was sworn in as Regent in the presence of Cabinet members.

Palestinians arrested in Israeli army raids

Israeli occupation forces carried out raids across the West Bank and East Jerusalem early Monday and arrested 20 Palestinians, according to the Palestinian Prisoners Club.

The heavily armed Israeli forces stormed Hebron, Ramallah, al-Bireh, Nablus, Jenin, Tubas, and multiple neighborhoods of occupied east Jerusalem, it added.
