Azeri ambassador praises ties with Jordan on their 30th anniversary

Amman: Azerbaijan’s Ambassador in Amman Eldar Salimov praised his country’s relations with Jordan in various political, diplomatic, economic, and cultural fields.

In a statement released Sunday marking the 30th anniversary of Jordanian-Azeri ties, Salimov said Jordan was among the first countries that recognized Azerbaijan as an independent state in 1991.

The ambassador expressed hope for increased Jordanian-Azeri trade, which is “below ambitions considering the potentials in both countries.”

Jordan and Azerbaijan’s mutual point of view on global issues forged a high level of dialogue and political understanding between the two countries, added Salimov.

He commended the role of Jordanian press in bringing the two countries together, which is not limited to publishing objective information based on historical and modern facts about Azerbaijan, but also extends to popular culture, traditions, customs, and geography.

The envoy pointed out that the Kingdom’s strategic location plays a significant role in current regional and global events, making bilateral cooperation between the two countries a fundamental matter for the benefit of both nations.
