Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, on Thursday visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he held a meeting with his Lebanese counterpart, Abdallah Bou Habib. ‘I’ve welcomed our honorable guest in Lebanon, and I hope that another meeting will bring us together, either in Beirut or in Tehran,’ Bou Habib said on emerging, noting that his Iranian counterpart has briefed him on the details of the Saudi-Iranian agreement in Beijing, with hopes that good things will come out of it for Lebanon. “I am optimistic; every agreement between neighboring countries is good for Lebanon. Minister Abdollahian has offered us assistance in the electricity sector, and I will pass this offer on to my colleagues in the government,’ Bou Habib added. In turn, Minister Abdollahian said: “We held talks on bilateral relations, and the internal situation in Lebanon. Iran has always wished well for Lebanon and encourages all its parties to expedite holding presidential elections.”

Al-Sudani receives an official invitation to attend the Global Climate Action Summit in Dubai

Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani received, today, Thursday, an official invitation from the Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, to attend the (Global Climate Action Summit), which represents the official launch of the UAE Climate Conference for the period from 1 to 2 December 2023.

A statement by the Prime Mminister’s office said, “The invitation was delivered to Al-Sudani by the Emirati charge d’affaires in Baghdad.”

The statement added: “During the meeting, they discussed relations between Iraq and the UAE, and ways to improve and develop them, especially the economic and investment aspect, for which the government has placed a wide space in its government curriculum.”

He explained: “The conference, which is a global platform for discussing climate issues, aims to support the course of climate negotiations among the countries of the world, in order to find effective and fair solutions, and unify efforts to reduce the effects of climate change and promote sustainable economic development.”/ End

Bahraini medical team participated in UAE’s ‘Gallant Knight 2’ operation in Türkiye

A medical team from the Royal Medical Services (RMS) at the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) has participated in the UAE’s ‘Gallant Knight 2’ operation, within the mobile field hospital initiative, launched by the UAE to support the survivors of the earthquake that struck Syria and Türkiye, and contribute to their rehabilitation.

In a televised report aired by Abu Dhabi satellite TV channel, UAE general surgery consultant, Dr. Ahmed Al Mazrouei, affirmed that the participation of Bahraini doctors has strengthened the capabilities of the UAE field hospital, and created a good opportunity to exchange experiences.

He added that Bahrain and the UAE always seek good.

Bahraini doctor asserted that the participation of the kingdom’s medical team has consolidated solidarity and cooperation with the UAE team, as all worked together to support and rescue brothers in Türkiye in the face of the repercussions of the earthquake.

He indicated that the efforts exerted by the two countries’ teams have resulted in treating a great number of injured due to the quake.

Dr. Salem Al-Othman affirmed that Bahrain and the UAE are always united in serving the entire humanity.

The Abu Dhabi TV’s report confirmed that the participation of the Bahraini medical team in ‘Gallant Knight 2’ operation has increased the capacity of the field hospital and re-affirmed the fraternity between the two countries.

Youth Minister receives Chinese ambassador

Minister of Youth Affairs, Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfeeqi, received the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Ni Ruchi.

She praised the distinguished relations between the two friendly countries mainly in the youth sector, which resulted in the organization of joint programmes.

The Chinese ambassador expressed thanks and appreciation to the Minister of Youth Affairs for her keenness on boosting the youth relations between both countries.

Bahrain’s efforts to protect workers stressed

Labour Minister, Jamil bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, the Chairman of the Occupational Safety and Health Council, praised Bahrain’s developed legislation and laws in protecting the labour force from all types of incidents, injuries and occupational illnesses. He stressed the growing importance accorded to boosting occupational health and safety by the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

In a statement marking the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, which is observed on April 28, the Labour Minister underscored that the occupational safety and health indicators over the past years mirror the great national efforts exerted in this context to ensure a secure and stable work environment to all workers.

The minister affirmed the importance of tackling the causes of occupational incidents at the work sites. He pointed out that preemptive measures, monitoring of the occupational health and safety supervisors at the worksites and using appropriate and safe equipment are necessary to prevent regrettable work incidents.

The Minister of Labour called on employers to avail of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work to further boost labour protection at all levels so as to preserve human resources and develop them in a secure and stable labour market.
