A terrorist arrested in Sulaymaniyah and handed over to the requesting party

The forces of the General Directorate of the Anti-Terrorism Service in Sulaymaniyah, in cooperation with the Iraqi Anti-Terrorism Service, carried out a joint operation in the city of Chamchamal.

A statement added that in this operation, the Sulaymaniyah Anti-Terrorism Service and the Iraqi Anti-Terrorism Service arrested a wanted terrorist and handed him over to the requesting party.

Iraq and Turkey discuss facilitating the granting of entry visas between the two countries

Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Ankara, Majed Al-Lajmawi, met today, Thursday, with the head of the consular department in the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nordan Altin Tash, in the building of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that in the meeting, they discussed coordination between the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq and the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and providing the necessary support for joint work on the level of facilitating the granting of entry visas between the two countries.

Ambassador Al-Lajmawi confirmed that the Embassy is working to facilitate the procedures for granting entry visas to Iraqi lands for Turkish investors and businessmen based on the authority granted to us by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani during his visit to Ankara and his meeting with businessmen and investors on March 22, 2023, noting that the Embassy did not refuse any application submitted to grant entry visas to Iraq.

He stressed that the doors of the Embassy are open to receive businessmen and investors wishing to work in Iraq, and his willingness to remove obstacles that prevent the smooth flow of economic and commercial activity, adding: There are great facilities in increasing the number of visas granted to other categories of Turkish citizens, as for workers, the issue is related to the Ministry of Labor and social affairs.

He explained that our consulate in Istanbul was instructed to continue working on granting entry visas to Iraqi lands, and that the Embassy is working to hold a seminar for Turkish businessmen and investors soon in Istanbul.

For her part, Nordan Altin Tash praised the role of the Ambassador in facilitating the procedures for granting entry visas to Turkish investors and businessmen and overcoming the obstacles they faced, stressing that there has been a qualitative leap in granting entry visas since the Ambassador assumed his position as Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Ankara.

Major General Rasool announces the killing of three terrorists in Nineveh

The Spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasool, announced the killing of three terrorists in Nineveh.

Rasool said in a statement: According to the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, to follow up the movements of the defeated terrorist elements, and after receiving information about an attack attempt by the terrorists at the edge of the Zab River in the Shanf area within the Nineveh Operations Command sector, a joint security force from the Iraqi army, the popular crowd and the intelligence effort carried out a search and Inspection operation in the same place and managed to kill 3 terrorist elements and is still looking for another terrorist, indicating that they seized a gun and a 40 mm launcher.

He stressed that the miserable attempts by the terrorist elements were faced by a violent and immediate response, and our armed forces will not allow these losing criminal elements to move anywhere in the pure land of Iraq.

Bahrain All Share Index closes higher

Bahrain All Share Index closed at 1,936.53 points marking an increase of 1.91 points above the previous closing

This increase was due to the raise in the communications services sector, consumer discretionary sector, industrials sector and real estate sector.

Bahrain Islamic Index closed at 704.58 points marking an increase of 6.34 points above the previous closing.

Results indicated that 114 equity transactions took place with a volume of 4,287,320 worth BD 1,081,928.

Investors traded mainly in the materials sector representing 42.46% of the total value of securities traded.

Industry Minister meets Orion Foodstuff Company President

Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, met Sean Crain, President of Orion Foodstuff Company, on the sidelines of the official visit of the economic delegation to South Korea.

Noor bint Ali Al Khulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development, Ambassador Fatima Abdullah Al Dhaen, and a number of senior officials from both sides attended the meeting.

Fakhro highlighted the solid strategic partnership between Bahrain and Korea, and continued progress in their bilateral ties and cooperation, particularly in the fields of trade and economy.

During the meeting, the minister was briefed on operations in Orion.

The minister commended the performance of Orion, affirming Bahrain’s keenness on cooperation with such leading international corporations and attracting businesses and investments to the kingdom.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister receives the Speaker of the Council of Representatives and the Chairman of the Shura Council

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today received the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, HE Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, and the Chairman of the Shura Council, HE Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, at Riffa Palace.

His Royal Highness underscored that the Kingdom of Bahrain continues to maintain its global standing, thanks to the forward-looking visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and a commitment to protecting the Islamic religion and its core pillars. In this regard, His Royal Highness commended the Kingdom’s solidarity and adherence to Islamic teachings, in line with the National Action Charter and the Constitution, and expressed appreciation for the continuous efforts to strengthen Bahraini society.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister noted the deep-rooted cooperation between the Executive and Legislative Authorities, acknowledging its positive impact on Bahrain’s society.

Saudi Aramco blue hydrogen production unchanged

Saudi Aramco denied claims that it will pause its plans to produce blue ammonia, a carrier of blue hydrogen, by 2030.

In a statement, Aramco affirmed its plan to produce 11 million tonnes of blue ammonia, a carrier of blue hydrogen, by 2030 remains unchanged, SPA reported.

Aramco stated that it will continue to work with potential customers and other stakeholders around the world, and is making real progress across the blue hydrogen value chain.

This includes receiving the world’s first independent certification withSaudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) for blue ammonia and blue hydrogen production, as well as delivering three shipments of blue ammonia to clients in Asia, the statement added.

Bahrain Ambassador to Russia meets Asia and Pacific director general

Bahrain Ambassador to the Russian Federation Abdulrahman Al Saati met Alexey Ovchinnikov, Director General of the Asia and Pacific Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and reviewed bilateral relations in the Asian organisations, particularly the Organization for Asian Dialogue and Cooperation, currently chaired by the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Al Saati praised the advanced level of bilateral binding the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation, noting growing cooperation across all fields.

He stressed the importance of reinforcing bilateral relations and expanding cooperation to meet the aspirations of friendly colours, wishing the Russian Federation further progress and prosperity.
