An informed source confirmed: The President of the Republic is in good health and has not been exposed to any accident, as is reported by social media.

The communication sites had reported the President’s exposure to fractures and bruises while he got off the plane at Baghdad International Airport.

Northern Governor chairs meeting

Northern Governor Ali Abdulhussein Al Asfoor today chaired the weekly consultative meeting, in Qalaa Security Camp Commander Colonel Abdulla Ali Maantar, and other officials.

Col. Maantar delivered a presentation on etiquette protocols, highlighting other key issues during the meeting. The Northern Governor commended the the presentation.

The meeting preparations to hold the summer youth programme themed “Homeland and King Unite US). The Northern Governorate will host the event from June 5 until Jly 13 in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Labour and other parties.

Juventus hit by 10-point penalty for false accounting, drops out of Champions League spots

Juventus was hit with a fresh 10-point penalty on Monday, hampering its chances of qualifying for next year’s Champions League.

The latest punishment for false accounting dropped Juventus from second spot in Serie A to seventh.

It left the Bianconeri five points behind AC Milan, which moved into fourth place in Serie A and the final qualifying spot for the Champions League.

Juventus was playing at lowly Empoli late Monday. There are then two rounds remaining, including what will be a crucial match against AC Milan.

Juventus was handed a a 15-point penalty in January while several members of its former board were also given bans from soccer activities, including former president Andrea Agnelli.

The points deduction was suspended last month on an appeal to the country’s highest sports court within the Italian Olympic Committee and referred back to the soccer federation’s appeals court for a new trial.

BDF Commander-in-Chief receives Pakistani JCSCC Chairman

Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Commander-in-Chief, met with General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Pakistan’s Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSCC), in the presence of Lieutenant General Abdullah bin Hassan Al Nuaimi, the Defence Minister, and Lieutenant-General Dheyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, the BDF Chief of Staff.

The Commander-in-Chief praised the Bahraini-Pakistani ties and reviewed ways to develop military cooperation.

The meeting was attended by Major-General Hasan Mohammed Saad, the General Command Court Director, Major-General Ghanim Ibrahim Al-Fadala, the Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, Rear Admiral Mohammed Yousef Al-Assam, the Director of Military Cooperation, and senior BDF officers.

Health Minister attended key Arab meeting in Geneva

Health Minister Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayyed Hasan attended the 59th session of the Council of Arab League Health Ministers and its executive board.

The meeting which was held at the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva, was attended by member states, on the sidelines of the 76th regular session of the World Health Organization (WHO), which was held from May 21 to 30 in Geneva.

Dr. Hasan expressed pride in Bahrain’s hosting the Arab-German Conference and Exhibition for Pharmaceutical Industries and Medical Supplies, next December, wishing success for the forum, which is considered the first of its kind in the region.

Incumbent head of the current session Algerian Minister of Health Abdelhak Saihi, Egyptian Minister of Health and Population, Chair of the Executive Board Dr. Khalid Abdul Ghaffar and Arab League Assistant Secretary General for Social Affairs Haifa Abu Ghazala addressed the session.

During the session, the Arab strategy for a health-friendly budget was launched, providing a key reference for Arab countries to develop health budgets that are more responsive and flexible to the needs of their populations.

The delegations discussed health conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, and the health conditions in the occupied Syrian Golan, in addition to the Arab strategy for a health-friendly budget.

The session also focused on the hosting the Arab-German Conference and Exhibition for Pharmaceutical Industries and Medical Supplies in Bahrain, in addition to the joint speech of the Council of Arab Ministers of Health before the 76th session of the General Assembly of the World Health Organization, which was delivered by the Yemeni Minister of Health.

The session welcomed the hosting of the Ministerial Forum for Health and Environment in the Kingdom of Morocco, thanking the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for hosting the first meeting of the Arab drug regulatory authorities and the meeting of the Technical Committee for Medicine.

Prince Salman bin Hamad Medal of Medical Merit presented to iGA employees

The Minister of Interior, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, instructed the Information and Electronic Government Authority (iGA) Chief Executive Officer Mohammed AlQaed, awarded the Prince Salman bin Hamad Medal of Medical Merit to a number of iGA employees who have supported the Bahrain’s comprehensive efforts to combat the global COVID-19COVID- pandemic.

The move followed the Royal Decree by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to all concerned authorities, to award medals to frontline workers in the health sector, the Bahrain Defense Force, the Ministry of Interior, and all supporting agencies,

On this occasion, AlQaed expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude to HM the King for the royal orders to honour all frontliners from the health sector, Bahrain Defense Force, Ministry of Interior and all supportive entities.

He also extended his sincere appreciation to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for his support to implement the aspirations of HM the King to honour all employees deserving the Prince Salman bin Hamad Medal of Medical Merit. .

He praised iGA employees’ commitment and dedication to provide technical support to the National Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19 .

He affirmed that the iGA will continue to reinforce cooperation and joint efforts to provide all needed support in implementing the digital transformation plans as well as building capacities and skills that enable them dealing with various systems and technologies under different circumstances.

The recipients expressed gratitude to HM the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, reaffirming their commitment towards the national initiatives and the eTransformation program in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
