The KDP comments on the Federal Court’s decision on the Kurdistan Region Parliament

The Kurdistan Democratic Party commented, on Tuesday, on the Federal Court’s decision on the unconstitutionality of extending the work of the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region.

The party’s Spokesman, Hammoud Muhammad, said in a statement: “It is clear to everyone that the KDP has made every effort to hold elections at the end of the legal period for the fifth parliamentary session of the Kurdistan Parliament, and for that it requested serious steps from the parties participating in the political process during meetings with them and visits to prepare to elections according to the specified legal dates.

It added, “We will not go back now to talking about the steps, but rather we call on all parties and citizens to be helpful in conducting fair elections, each according to his responsibility, and we also ask the government and the concerned institutions to take the necessary steps to make this process a success.”

It stressed, “What matters to the Kurdistan Democratic Party is holding parliamentary elections in Kurdistan.”

The Federal Supreme Court issued, earlier today, Tuesday, a ruling unconstitutional to extend the work of the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region.

US State Department: Moscow bears responsibility for the conflict with Kiev.. and we do not support carrying out attacks inside Russia

The United States announced today, Tuesday, that it does not support carrying out attacks inside Russia, and that Moscow bears responsibility for the conflict with Ukraine, after Ukrainian drones targeted buildings in the capital, Moscow.

A US State Department Spokesperson said: “In general, we do not support carrying out attacks inside Russia. We are focused on providing Ukraine with the equipment and training it needs to restore sovereignty on its territory.”

The Spokesman’s remarks came during a tour of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in Sweden.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced earlier, in a statement, that “the Kiev regime attempted this morning (Tuesday) to launch a drone attack on buildings in the city of Moscow. 8 drones participated in the attack.”

Putin: The attack with drones on Moscow is a response to our destruction of the headquarters of the Ukrainian Military Intelligence

The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, stated that the attack of Ukrainian drones on Russian civilian facilities this morning is a response to the Russian forces’ destruction of the headquarters of Ukrainian intelligence two days ago.

The President said, “We have already talked about the possibility of striking the Ukrainian decision-making centers, which of course include the headquarters of the Ukrainian military intelligence, which was targeted by our forces two or three days ago.”

President Putin explained: “The Kiev forces are unable to hit Russian military targets, so they resort to vile tricks, perhaps to intimidate the Russian people, by striking civilian targets.”

He stressed, “This attack is clear evidence of terrorist activity by the Kiev authorities.”

Earlier today, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its condemnation of the Ukrainian forces’ attempts to launch attacks against Russia, and confirmed that Moscow reserves the right to take the most stringent measures in response.

The Council of Ministers holds its twenty-second regular session, headed by Al-Sudani, and takes several decisions

The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, chaired today, Tuesday, the twenty-second regular session of the Council of Ministers, in which the country’s public affairs were discussed, and the most important economic and service vital files were reviewed, in addition to deliberating the issues on the agenda and taking decisions in their regard.

In confirmation of the government’s principle of transparency in the work of state institutions, and in order to enhance responsible media and journalistic work, the Council of Ministers hosted the head of the Integrity Commission, to discuss a draft law (the right to obtain information), and in this regard, the Prime Minister directed all Ministers to study the draft law, provided that they submit their comments on it within a maximum period of one month.

Al-Sudani also directed the necessity of paying attention to renewable energy projects, taking practical measures regarding them, and unifying the state’s efforts towards the renewable energy file, which the government has adopted among the priorities of its executive program.

The Council of Ministers deliberated on the Hajj file, and the facilities provided to them. The Prime Minister wished a successful and safe Hajj for all Iraqi pilgrims heading towards the Sacred House of God, and referred to the state’s support for the pilgrims in the current Hajj season, in order to reach the lowest financial costs among the countries of the Islamic world, in addition to adopting the official exchange rate for pilgrims. Al-Sudani affirmed the continuation of his follow-up of their affairs, and also directed to provide all necessary facilities for Hajj, convoys and trips, in order to secure the best services for them.

The Council of Ministers discussed the file of new cities approved by the government to address the housing problem and reduce overcrowding within city centers, and in the context of the Prime Minister’s directives to provide facilities to proceed with them.

Intelligence detachments arrest two drug dealers and traffickers in Dhi Qar and Al-Muthanna governorates

Detachments of the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security arrested two drug dealers and promoters in Dhi Qar and Muthanna governorates.

A statement by the Directorate stated: “The detachments of the Dhi Qar Intelligence and Security Directorate arrested a dealer and promoter of narcotic substances in the industrial housing area in Dhi Qar Governorate, and seized various narcotic substances in his possession that were confiscated and referred to the judiciary.”

In the same context, detachments of Al-Muthanna Intelligence and Security Directorate arrested a suspect wanted by the judiciary in accordance with Article (28) of drugs, in the Rumaitha district, and referred him to the competent authorities.

Jordan’s environment minister, Chinese envoy in Amman talk cooperation in climate change

Fair weather forecast until Tuesday

Moderate and breezy weather is expected to prevail on Tuesday in most of the Kingdom’s regions, with daytime temperatures reaching 28 degrees Celsius in the capital, Amman, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily forecast. In the late afternoon and evening hours, cooler weather is forecast as mercury levels slide to around 14C. In the Gulf city of Aqaba, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley, relatively hot conditions are predicted to dominate with mercury reaching a high of 35 degrees, dropping to 23C at night. Clouds will build at various altitudes, bringing a chance for scattered showers of rain in parts of the eastern and southeastern areas accompanied by thunder at times, meteorologists expected. Similar weather conditions will persist on Wednesday, but Thursday will see a few degrees increase in mercury levels, triggering relatively hot to hot conditions in much of the country, except in the highlands where it will be fair.

Israeli forces push deep into eastern Gaza City

Israeli occupation forces early Tuesday made an incursion into Al-Zeitoun neighborhood east of Gaza City, for the second day in a row, according to Palestinian sources. “Israeli troops, backed by military vehicles and bulldozers, pushed dozens of meters deep into the east of the neighborhood, and razed the Palestinian owned-lands,” the sources said.
