The FM will attend Erdogan’s inauguration ceremony as a representative of the Iraqi government

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that its Minister Fuad Hussein will attend the inauguration ceremony of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, representing the government.

Ministry spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahhaf said in a statement, “Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein will attend tomorrow the inauguration ceremony of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan,” representing the government of the Republic of Iraq.

A security source: The air strike within Hamrin Basin in Diyala destroys an ISIS cell, kills 5 terrorists

A security source revealed the details of the air strike in Hamrin Basin, northeast of Baquba. Diyala Governorate Center.

He told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that the air strike targeted a secret hideout of an ISIS cell after monitoring the movements of its members and determining their hiding place by intelligence monitoring in Hamrin Basin, northeast of Baquba.

He added that the air operation resulted in the killing of 5 terrorists, including a leader within the Hamrin axis in ISIS, nicknamed Abu Mustafa.

LMRA, NPRA, Muharraq Police Directorate conduct joint inspection campaign

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) conducted a joint inspection campaign in the Muharraq Governorate, in coordination with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) of the Ministry of Interior and the Governorate’s respective Police Directorate.

The campaign resulted in reporting violations related to the Labour Market and Residency laws. The cases were referred for legal action.

LMRA stressed its commitment to report any violation through a continuous and intensive inspection plan, in coordination with the relevant government entities.

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority renewed its call on all members of the society to support the efforts of government agencies in addressing illegal labour practices by reporting violations via the electronic form on LMRA’s website www.lmra.gov.bh or by calling the authority’s call centre on 17506055.

Bahrain, Papua New Guinea sign statement on establishing diplomatic relations

The Kingdom of Bahrain and the Independent State of Papua New Guinea today signed a joint statement on the establishment of diplomatic relations between them, based on their mutual desire to develop their peaceful and cooperation relations of friendship in the political, economic, trade, cultural and other areas of common interest, according to the principles of the Charter of the United Nations and the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.

The statement was signed at the premises of the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations here, by Bahrain’s Permanent Representative to the UN in New York, Ambassador Jamal Fares Al- Rowaiei, and the Permanent Representative of the State of Papua New Guinea to the UN, Ambassador Max Hufanen Rai.

Foreign Ministry Undersecretary meets with Philippine Foreign Secretary

Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Consular and Administrative Affairs, Ambassador Dr. Mohammed Ali Bahzad, met today, on the sidelines of his visit to the Philippine capital, Manilla, with Philippine Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Enrique Manalo.

They discussed ways of bolstering cooperation between the two friendly countries in the consular field. They stressed the significance of providing distinguished consular services for Bahraini and Philippine nationals abroad, pointing out the importance of promoting cooperation in this respect to serve mutual interests.

UAE to host IUCN’s World Conservation Congress in 2025

The UAE has won the bid to host the World Conservation Congress of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in 2025 in Abu Dhabi. The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) submitted the bid on behalf of Abu Dhabi and the UAE government.

The results were announced on 25th May, following approval of the IUCN’s bid evaluation committee recommendations to the IUCN Governing Council at its meeting held in Gland, Switzerland from 23rd-25th May 2023. The IUCN Council is chaired by the president and consists of elected members from across all the regions as well as a Chair of Commissions and is the body responsible for the oversight and general control of all IUCN affairs.

According to Emirates News Agency (WAM), the successful bid to host the IUCN World Conservation Congress in 2025 further reaffirms the UAE and its leadership’s commitment to environmental conservation, climate change action and sustainability.

Abu Dhabi continues to be at the forefront of nature conservation by building strong relations with key international environmental organisations such as the IUCN. The agency’s Managing Director, Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak, is the current President of the IUCN, while the EAD’s Secretary-General, Dr. Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri, is a Global Councillor.

The IUCN WCC in 2025 in Abu Dhabi is expected to bring an estimated 10,000-15,000 delegates from over 160 countries across the globe and will be an event which could galvanise conservation actions to protect our planet, amid local and global challenges.

Established in 1948, IUCN has evolved into the world’s largest and most diverse environmental network. Today the organisation is well known for its knowledge products, such as the Red List of Species, Red List of Ecosystems, Key Biodiversity Areas and the Green Lists which are widely used in setting conservation priorities for threatened species, ecosystems and in identification of important areas for protection.

Australian Foreign Ministry’s Chief of Protocol receives Bahraini ambassador’s credentials copy

Chief of Protocol of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Commonwealth of Australia, Ian McConville, today received a copy of the credentials of the Jakarta-Resident Bahraini Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Australia, Ahmed Abdulla Al-Hajeri.

Ian McConville expressed his pride in the friendship relations between Bahrain and Australia, wishing the envoy every success in carrying out his diplomatic duties.

Ambassador Al-Hajeri expressed the kingdom’s interest in enhancing and broadening its friendship relations with Australia for the benefit of the two countries and their peoples.
