Mafraq: The Mafraq Agriculture Directorate has successfully exported 24,000 heads of cattle to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets following the resumption of the export process earlier this week, according to its Director, Abdullah Qudah.
According to Jordan News Agency, Qudah emphasized that these export operations are significant for supporting the national economy and aiding farmers in maintaining the Kingdom's livestock sector. He assured that the current exports will not impact meat prices in the local market due to the limited number of sheep being exported compared to the domestic supply.
Qudah explained that prior to completion of the export process, breeders must separate the livestock in one of 12 quarantines across the Kingdom, with three located in the Mafraq governorate. These facilities are essential for verifying the health of the exported animals, ensuring they are disease-free, and providing a certificate of origin. This certificate acts as an export license, guaranteeing the quality of the products and benefiting Jordan's livestock owners.
