3 Energy Commission Employees Remanded in Custody on Abuse of Office Charges

Amman: Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission Public Prosecutor, Judge Mohammad Bani Taha, ordered three employees of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) to be remanded in custody for one week at the Marka Correctional and Rehabilitation Center on charges of abuse of office.

According to Jordan News Agency, the public prosecution charged the employees with exploiting their positions to obtain personal benefit and neglecting their duties, as stated in a release from the commission.

The statement further revealed that the defendants were found to have made thousands of dinars in cash through exploiting their positions.
