e Kirkuk Police Command announced that it had thwarted the smuggling of 30 foreigners from Erbil to Baghdad.
He said in a statement: "Under the direct supervision of the police chief of Kirkuk Governorate, an elaborate ambush was set up to arrest the smugglers of foreigners, after receiving confirmed information about the intention to smuggle 30 foreigners of different nationalities from Erbil Governorate to Baghdad Governorate inside the transport vehicles of construction materials from the side roads."
The statement added, "With a qualitative operation, they were arrested under the wheels, and the transporter (the smuggler) was arrested red-handed, and three trucks and a civilian saloon-type vehicle were seized."
He pointed out that "the police command continues its campaigns to eliminate violators and not allow any case that falls within the human trafficking law."
