4.2-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes off Latakia Coast: Jordan Seismological Observatory

Amman: The Jordan Seismological Observatory (JSO), affiliated with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, recorded on Tuesday evening an earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale off the coast of Latakia at 6:05 p.m.

According to Jordan News Agency, Ghassan Sweidan, head of the observatory, said the quake struck at a depth of 60 kilometres and was located about 380 kilometres from Amman, adding that it was a felt earthquake off the Syrian coast.
