5 Killed, 21 Injured in Terrorist Bombing at Imam Ali Mosque in Homs

Homs: Five people were killed and twenty-one others injured on Friday in a terrorist bombing at the Imam Ali bin Abi Talib Mosque in the Wadi Al-Dhahab neighborhood of Homs, Syria, according to initial reports.

According to Jordan News Agency, Najeeb Al-Nassan, Director of Referral, Ambulance, and Emergency Services at Syria's Ministry of Health, stated that the casualties resulted from the explosion, noting that the figures are considered preliminary.

A security source indicated that initial investigations reveal the blast was caused by explosive devices planted inside the mosque.

Security forces swiftly moved to the scene, establishing a security perimeter around the mosque. Relevant authorities have initiated an investigation and started collecting evidence to identify those responsible for the attack.

Civil defense teams responded rapidly, working to rescue the wounded, recover the bodies of the victims, and clear the debris and damage caused by the explosion.
