Amman: The Scientific Committee of the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Arab Researchers has announced the opening of applications for the 44th cycle of the Award, set for 2026. The deadline for submissions is March 31, 2026.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Award spans various fields including Medical and Health Sciences, Engineering and Technological Sciences, Basic Sciences, Humanities, Social, and Educational Sciences, Water, Energy, and Food Sciences, and Economic and Administrative Sciences. The Award recognizes scientific work produced in the five years prior to nomination that advances knowledge and addresses priority issues on multiple levels.
The Award includes a certificate, a USD 20,000 cash prize, and a commemorative plaque. Applicants must hold an Arab nationality or be of Arab origin and must have produced work of recognized scientific and social value. Research must have been conducted in an Arab country, and theses are not considered in evaluations.
Applications must be submitted online through the Foundation's website. The assessment process involves peer-review committees formed by the Scientific Committee to ensure objectivity in selecting winners. The Award aims to foster a new generation of Arab researchers and support scientific research in the Arab world.
