Abu dhabi: Minister of Water and Irrigation, Raed Abu Soud, on Tuesday received the Syrian Deputy Minister of Energy for Water Resources, Osama Abu Zeid, Chairman of the Syrian Technical Committee for Water. The meeting occurred during the sessions of the joint committee responsible for addressing mutual water issues.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Syrian delegation visited the Water Sector Operations Control and Monitoring Center at the ministry's headquarters. This facility integrates modern water management systems, handles emergencies, and remotely monitors water resources. The delegation received a briefing on the operations and monitoring of water resources across Jordan's governorates, including dam monitoring and safety. They also learned about maintenance procedures, which are linked to the remote operations center.

In addition, the delegates examined the water reservoirs, pumping stations, and dams connected to the center. These are linked through an early warning and remote monitoring system across Jordan's governorates, facilitating joint coordination with relevant institutions. The Syrian delegation commended Jordan's water management approach in addressing water scarcity and expressed interest in adopting Jordan's practices in Syria.
