Amman: Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) discussed with the Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (Intaj), a number of key issues for the Kingdom's communications and information technology (CIT) sector, aimed at facilitating its companies' operations. According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting, which was held at the ACC's headquarters, emphasized the necessity of creating a tax environment conducive to growth while alleviating burdens on local companies. This initiative aims to enhance their competitiveness both locally and internationally. The ACC Chairman, Khalil Haj Tawfiq, highlighted the CIT sector's crucial role in bolstering the national economy and aiding the Kingdom's trade and services businesses, especially amidst current economic challenges. Haj Tawfiq also noted that continuous support from His Majesty King Abdullah II is instrumental in establishing Jordan as a regional hub for global companies in the CIT field. Furthermore, he asserted the chamber's commitment to s upporting the Kingdom's commercial and service sectors by facilitating their operations. Meanwhile, Intaj head, Eid Suweis, highlighted the CIT sector's potential for growth and expansion, underlining the importance of integrating technological innovations to bolster local companies' capabilities. Suweis also acknowledged the Royal interest in advancing the technology field, aiming to position Jordan as a regional technological gateway. He stressed the significance of technological education and vocational training in realizing this vision.
