Adverse Weather Conditions Cause Flight Delays at U.S., Canadian Airports

New York: The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced Monday that adverse weather conditions in several states have caused delays in flight departures and arrivals at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

According to Jordan News Agency, the FAA explained that delays could reach up to 136 minutes, as many airports in the U.S. and Canada are experiencing some of the harshest winter conditions in recent years. Departures to LaGuardia Airport are also facing delays due to the weather, with the average delay being 18 minutes, and the maximum delay reaching up to 55 minutes.

The National Weather Service reported that New York City, where both JFK and LaGuardia airports are located, is expected to experience "light" snowfall. The notice indicated that delays are affecting air traffic control centers in 26 locations, many of which serve multiple airports in the U.S., including airports in Los Angeles on the West Coast, Miami on the East Coast, as well as several Canadian airports.
