Diyala Police Command began deploying River Police patrols near swimming areas after the increase in drowning cases. A security source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that the river police began deploying near the main irrigation rivers in Diyala after recording more than / 10 / drowning cases during the past weeks, most of which were among young people who were practicing the hobby of swimming in the rivers. He added that the deployment of river police patrols in swimming areas comes to follow up on young people and rescue any drowning case that may occur, in addition to preventing swimming in dangerous places.
