Amman: Agricultural food exports surged in 2024, reaching JD1.276 billion by the end of October, marking an increase of JD346 million, or 37.16 percent, compared to 2023 when exports stood at JD1.1 billion, according to Agriculture Ministry figures.

According to Jordan News Agency, the increase was primarily in live animal exports, which rose by 38 percent from JD114 million to JD157 million. Fruit exports saw an 80 percent rise, going from JD114 million to JD263 million, while vegetable exports increased by 15 percent, moving from JD153 million to JD175 million, as reported by Agriculture Minister Khaled Huneifat.

Cumulative date exports to various parts of the world reached 16,280 tons, showing a 7 percent increase from 2023. Additionally, table egg exports rose to 94 million, an approximate 8 percent increase, he added.
