Amman: Agriculture Minister Saeb Khreisat engaged in discussions with Antonella D'Aprile, the World Food Programme (WFP) Representative and Country Director in Jordan, to explore avenues for enhanced cooperation in food security efforts.

According to Jordan News Agency, Khreisat emphasized the significant relationship between Jordan's Agriculture Ministry and the WFP, acknowledging the program's critical contribution to strengthening the nation's food security framework. He expressed gratitude to the WFP for supporting various initiatives, including the development of the Food Security Information Management System and the National School Nutrition Program. The partnership also extends to the "No Food Waste" initiative and efforts to empower small farmers through the Palestinian-Jordanian Agricultural Marketing Company. Additionally, the collaboration includes climate-smart agriculture initiatives aimed at bolstering sector resilience and achieving sustainable development.

Khreisat underscored the necessity of deepening the cooperation and partnership between the ministry and the WFP to serve Jordan's national interests and ensure sustainable food security within the Kingdom.
