Amman: Minister of Agriculture Saeb Khraisat emphasized the ministry's commitment to the date sector, highlighting its potential and significance to farmers, along with its role in enhancing the value of agricultural products. Khraisat called for advancements in the production, marketing, and processing chain, and stressed the necessity of opening new markets for Jordanian dates.
According to Jordan News Agency, the minister addressed these issues during a meeting with the Jordanian Dates Association (JODA) board, aimed at discussing the sector's requirements and strategies to boost its competitiveness. Board members shared their insights and suggestions, underlining the importance of collaboration between the ministry, the private sector, and sector associations. They advocated for initiatives to develop production, improve quality, and elevate the profile of Jordanian dates in both local and international markets. The board also highlighted the need for support for farmers and exporters.
