Agriculture Ministry and ASEZA Sign Agreement for Aqaba Nursery Development

Aqaba: The Ministry of Agriculture and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) have signed a significant land-use agreement aimed at developing the Aqaba Agriculture Directorate's nursery. The agreement focuses on enhancing plant production and increasing the nursery's production capacity.

According to Jordan News Agency, the agreement will lead to the implementation of a comprehensive development plan designed to modernize the nursery's facilities and strengthen its production program. This initiative is expected to boost the supply of high-quality forest seedlings to farmers and agricultural projects throughout the Aqaba Governorate.

Minister of Agriculture Saeb Khraisat, alongside ASEZA Chairman Shadi Majali, emphasized that the agreement aligns with the ministry's goals to optimize agricultural infrastructure, improve agricultural services, and promote sustainable development. The ministry highlighted that the project will also support efforts in afforestation, expansion of green areas, and advancement of agricultural and economic development, in line with its food security and environmental sustainability objectives.
