AHU Hosts First Tech Forum on Digital Healthcare Projects

Ma'an: The Princess Aisha bint Al Hussein College of Nursing and the Faculty of Information Technology at Al-Hussein Bin Talal University (AHU) hosted the first technical forum for digital technology projects in healthcare.

According to Jordan News Agency, the forum is part of the university's strategy to promote innovation and entrepreneurship by aiding students in transforming academic ideas into practical digital solutions. Students involved in the forum completed training tracks offered by the JoCodes program, an initiative under the Youth, Technology, and Jobs Project run by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, in collaboration with the Crown Prince Foundation and executed by Hello World Kids.

AHU President Atef Al-Kharabsheh pointed out the increasing importance of national digital transformation initiatives, emphasizing the university's commitment to integrating technology and artificial intelligence (AI) across both academic and professional fields.

Dean Doaa Dwairej of the Princess Aisha bint Al Hussein College of Nursing mentioned that the forum aligns with the faculty's objective to incorporate digital technologies, the Internet of Things (IoT), and information technology into healthcare delivery.

Sumaya Abu Saleh, JoCodes program coordinator at the Faculty of Information Technology, stated that the faculty has embedded the training modules directly into academic coursework, awarding students 10 course marks for professional certificates obtained. She revealed that since the program's launch in March 2026, nearly 1,000 AHU students have enrolled, with about 800 successfully earning certified credentials.

Mahmoud Al-Rasai, Director of the Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship Center, described the center's role in providing student projects with incubation, design space, and skill development resources, supported by partnerships with the public and private sectors.

Mutamar Jarrar, Head of the Community Health Nursing Department, remarked that the forum represents a significant milestone in acknowledging student accomplishments in health informatics, AI, and digital skills.

The event included presentations of student-led technical innovations and underscored ongoing training, qualification, and incubation opportunities aimed at promoting sustainable entrepreneurship.
