AI Training Initiative for Public Sector to Boost Government Efficiency Launched

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, in partnership with the Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB), has launched a comprehensive project aimed at enhancing public sector employees' capabilities in artificial intelligence (AI). The initiative seeks to modernize government performance by fostering innovation and integrating advanced AI technologies. Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Sami Smeirat, highlighted AI's pivotal role in reshaping government services, stating that the program will drive operational efficiency and encourage a culture of innovation within public institutions. Brigadier General Ayman Batran, Director of JODDB, stressed the importance of future-proofing Jordan's public sector through advanced technology, positioning the bureau as a key partner in this national endeavor. The initiative's first phase aims to train 3,000 employees from 100 government entities, targeting three primary groups: senior leadership, general employees, and specialized techn ical staff. The program is a key component of Jordan's National AI Strategy, which aims to empower 15,000 public sector workers with AI skills by the end of 2027.
