Amman: Airport International Group (AIG), the operator of Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA), has bolstered the airport's status as Jordan's primary gateway in the first half of 2026. According to Jordan News Agency, AIG has achieved significant milestones in connectivity, passenger experience, sustainability, and community involvement despite a challenging regional environment.
QAIA expanded its route network, providing more travel options and enhancing Jordan's global connectivity. Royal Jordanian (RJ) introduced new routes to Misrata, Munich, Hamburg, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Tashkent, while resuming flights to Sharjah, Alexandria, and Vienna. Additionally, FlyAden's inaugural service to Aden was launched, promoting tourism, trade, business travel, and stronger ties with key markets.
QAIA received international recognition for its focus on passenger experience, earning Level 4 Accreditation from Airports Council International's Airport Customer Experience Accreditation program. It entered the Skytrax World's Top 100 Airports 2026, ranking 97th globally, and received regional accolades for its services.
In sustainability, QAIA became the first airport in the Middle East to achieve ISO 50001 certification for its Energy Management System. The airport launched an upgraded air quality monitoring station integrated with Jordan's national network, supporting sustainability efforts.
Beyond aviation, the Airport International Group Foundation (AIGF) launched the seventh cohort of its Hirfati Training Center, offering vocational programs and attracting over 220 applications. AIGF partnered with Pioneers for Development and Training to enhance program delivery and impact.
QAIA engaged the community through events such as Jordanian Flag Day and Independence Day celebrations, and dedicated areas for FIFA World Cup match viewing. Nicolas Deviller, CEO of AIG, highlighted the airport's resilience and commitment to innovation, sustainability, and community value. He expressed gratitude to stakeholders and employees for their contributions to QAIA's achievements in the first half of 2026.
