Al-Hakim stresses the importance of deciding on the selection of a new candidate for the Speaker of Parliament

The Head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, discussed with the member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Jawad al-Bolani, the developments of the political scene and the file of electing a new Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives. Al-Hakim stressed during the meeting, according to a statement from his office, "the importance of deciding on the selection of a new candidate," calling on the Sunni component "again to choose a personality characterized by leadership qualities and political history." The two sides discussed "some of the laws on the agenda of the Council of Representatives, and we stressed the supervisory and legislative aspects as they are the two wings of parliamentary work."
