Algeria urges UN action on Gaza humanitarian crisis

New York, Algeria called on the UN Security Council to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Algerian Ambassador Amar Ben Jamaa emphasised the urgent need for action to address the dire conditions faced by Palestinians, particularly children and women, who suffer from food insecurity. He stressed that the only solution to the crisis is ensuring the Palestinian people's inalienable right to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. He urged unified efforts to respond to Gaza's humanitarian needs and condemned obstacles to humanitarian aid delivery, noting that only 86 trucks entered Gaza daily in early July compared to 500 previously. He expressed concern over the safety of humanitarian workers due to attacks on peacekeepers and UNRWA offices. Source: Bahrain News Agency
