Amman: The Amman Chamber of Commerce and Tkiyet Um Ali have formalized an agreement to extend their support for food security programs, aiming to provide monthly food assistance to vulnerable families across the Kingdom for an entire year.
According to Jordan News Agency, the memorandum of understanding was signed by Amman Chamber of Commerce Chairperson Khalil Haj Tawfiq and Tkiyet Um Ali Director General Samer Balkar. The agreement outlines the chamber's commitment to backing Tkiyet Um Ali's programs, which include the monthly distribution of food parcels to families meeting specific eligibility criteria.
Haj Tawfiq highlighted that this renewed partnership underscores the chamber's dedication to its social responsibility, alongside the commercial and services sectors, contributing to national efforts aimed at bolstering food security for families in need.
At the signing ceremony, he remarked that this initiative represents the Amman business community's support for sustainable charitable programs, emphasizing the critical role of collaboration between the private sector and charitable organizations in aiding the Kingdom's most disadvantaged groups.
Haj Tawfiq further noted that social responsibility is a fundamental aspect of the chamber's mission, alongside representing the interests of the commercial and services sectors. He described the support for vulnerable families as a national and humanitarian obligation that enhances social cohesion and stability.
Balkar expressed gratitude for the chamber's ongoing support of Tkiyet Um Ali's initiatives, stressing the significance of partnerships with private sector entities in expanding assistance to beneficiaries and ensuring the sustainability of efforts aimed at combating hunger and food insecurity.
He stated that the memorandum will facilitate the provision of essential food supplies to sponsored families for a year, through monthly food parcels prepared and distributed according to Tkiyet Um Ali's health and safety standards.
As part of the agreement, Tkiyet Um Ali will oversee the procurement, preparation, and distribution of the monthly food parcels to beneficiary families, maintaining the continuity of food assistance through its established systems.
This memorandum strengthens the longstanding collaboration between the Amman Chamber of Commerce and Tkiyet Um Ali, reinforcing their collective efforts to enhance food security and support vulnerable families throughout the Kingdom.
