Amman: First Vice President of the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC), Nabil Khatib, met with Rwandan Ambassador to Jordan, James Ngango, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in economic and trade fields and exploring investment opportunities in both countries.
According to Jordan News Agency, Khatib stated that the meeting follows up on the outcomes of the Jordanian delegation's visit to Rwanda last October, which was led by Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yarub Qudah and attended by private sector representatives.
The visit included meetings of the Joint Trade and Investment Committee and the Jordanian-Rwandan Business Forum. Khatib highlighted that talks with the Rwandan ambassador represent a practical step towards expanding economic, trade, and investment cooperation. He called for organizing specialized exhibitions and exchanging mutual trade delegations to further this aim.
Khatib also emphasized the commitment of the Jordanian commercial and services sectors to developing relations with Rwanda across various fields. This commitment is deemed crucial amid current regional and international challenges that require enhanced cooperation to sustain growth.
Additionally, Khatib mentioned that the Rwandan ambassador proposed organizing a joint business forum on November 13 in Amman. This event, to be held in collaboration with the Rwandan Embassy and relevant Jordanian public and private sector entities, will set the groundwork for the next session of the Jordanian-Rwandan Joint Committee, scheduled for March 2026 in Amman.
Ambassador Ngango affirmed Rwanda's commitment to strengthening economic ties with Jordan and opening new avenues for cooperation beneficial to both nations. The diplomat noted that the proposed forum would serve as a key platform for dialogue between business communities. It aims to enable the exploration of joint investment opportunities in sectors such as agriculture, tourism, services, and technology, as well as enhance trade exchange and facilitate direct coordination between institutions, paving the way for future cooperation agreements.
