An Iraqi Trade Delegation Visits Baku Industrial Zone To Discuss Cooperation Possibilities To Transfer Advanced Production Technology To Iraq

The Director General of the Department of Foreign Economic Relations at the Ministry of Trade, Riyadh Al-Hashemi, accompanied by a group of Iraqi businessmen, visited the industrial zone in the Azerbaijan capital, Baku. This was on the sidelines of the official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan. The statement of the media office quoted the Director General as saying that during the visit, ways to transfer advanced production technology to the Iraqi private sector were discussed, which would contribute to developing and enhancing industrial capabilities in Iraq, in addition to reviewing several factories specialized in the production of construction materials, plastic pipes, cables, and other raw materials used in various industries. The statement indicated that the Iraqi delegation expressed its interest in deepening industrial cooperation with the Azerbaijani side, through exchanging experiences and providing opportunities for joint investment, with the aim of developing the Iraqi industrial sector and providing new job opportunities. It explained that this visit comes within the efforts of the Iraqi government to develop economic relations with friendly countries, in order to benefit from international experiences in developing infrastructure and the private sector.
