Announcing the formation of a new Civil Alliance in Baghdad for this reason

A group of civil organizations and community forces announced the formation of a new alliance called the Article 188 Alliance, in reference to the Iraqi Personal Status Law No. 188 of 1959, to demand that disputed religious issues not be included in Iraqi civil law and to reject the proposed new amendments.
