Anti-Corruption Prosecutor Detains Fuel Supplier Over Fraud Targeting Land Department

Amman: The public prosecutor at the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (JIACC) has ordered the detention of a fuel supplier contracted by the Department of Lands and Survey for one week at Marka Correction and Rehabilitation Center on charges of fraud and joint fraud.

According to Jordan News Agency, investigations revealed that the suspect, in collaboration with another individual, allegedly forged the commercial registration of a fuel station and falsified the station owner's signature on documents related to a fuel supply offer submitted to the Department of Lands and Survey.

Under the agreement, the supplier had committed to providing 42,500 liters of fuel free of charge. However, investigators found that the department received only 1,500 liters, depriving it of the remaining fuel commitment, valued at more than JD25,000.

The Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission had referred the case to the Public Prosecution in late April for legal action.
