Amman: The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), in collaboration with the Northern Jordan Valley Agriculture Directorate, conducted a training workshop on pisciculture, engaging local farmers in the region.
According to Jordan News Agency, the opening session featured remarks from the directorate's chairman, Mohammad El-Naeem, who highlighted the importance of the fish farming sector. He stated that it is a significant resource for creating job opportunities and enhancing food security. The Jordanian Ministry of Agriculture is also focusing on this industry under the National Sustainable Agriculture Plan, particularly by offering financing facilities for innovative agricultural projects through agricultural loans.
El-Naeem emphasized the necessity of implementing training workshops and quality guidance programs to educate farmers on best practices. The aim is to provide technical support and introduce modern agricultural technologies to this critical sector.
AOAD representative Ahmed Qudah discussed the latest technical practices in pisciculture and strategies for improving fish production in the region. Participants were taken to one of the area's enclosures, where they observed practical applications related to farm management, feeding, and marketing methods.
